What We Do
Beagle & Baobab is a luxury travel consultancy with a specialised focused on South Africa, the crown jewel of the African continent. Designing bespoke vacations for the new class of global traveller, we build on an intimate knowledge of South Africa’s cities and landscapes to craft an exclusive travel itinerary suited to the individual needs of you and your companions. Occasionally, we offer pre-designed Signature Experiences to select groups of pioneering explorers.
How We Work
Every Beagle & Baobab adventure begins with an in-person or video consultation, during which we set out to understand your needs and preferences absolutely. From there, we leverage our insider knowledge to design and arrange all aspects of your bespoke vacation itinerary, including travel, accommodation, activities, and cuisine. After a follow-up consultation or two, you’re ready to embark on a luxurious African adventure that any well-heeled explorer would envy.
Who We Are
Drawing inspiration from legendary tales, Beagle & Baobab’s name pays homage to two icons of adventure: the HMS Beagle, the 17th century ship that transported Charles Darwin on his world-famous voyages of exploration and discovery, and the ancient African baobab, a solitary and mystical tree that has captivated the continent’s explorers for centuries.
Founded by Damien du Preez, a South African entrepreneur raised in Cape Town, Beagle & Baobab is a heartfelt celebration of South Africa’s untamed wilderness, culinary traditions, and diverse cityscapes. Now living and studying in Frankfurt, Damien travels home often, splitting his time between Cape Town’s urban food scene, the mountains and vineyards of Stellenbosch, and a family farm hidden away in the hills of rural Limpopo.
